My husband had his pancreas removed 15 years ago due to a mass growing.

He has since become a diabetic patient. The main concern is his health, his sugar levels etc. He recently was able to get an insulin pump.

Even with the pump, it is a daily battle, not just for him but for me also as his caretaker. I have to be sure he is eating the proper foods, checking his levels, changing his pump every few days. It is exhausting.

But I have realized I need to take care of MY SELF in order to care for him. I have started walking every night, when I’m watching tv I do some sort of exercises, I take a quiet “me” time. It all helps to recharge my batteries so I can continue.

My health is just as important as his health.
