I suspect that my story is a whole lot different than most.
I was not diagnosed with MS until the ripe old age of sixty-four. It was a long and frustrating journey. It got to the point where I felt like friends and physicians suspected me of either a gross exaggeration or complete, attention-getting fantasy.
I tried to figure it all out on my own. Then I started to exercise, which made me even sorer. I bought a new mattress, which made me $4,000 poorer. The next part was – I bought all new shoes, which didn’t bother me so much. I went online and researched everything that matched my symptoms.
Everything pointed to Multiple Sclerosis. Every doctor I saw, started by telling me I was too old to have MS. I had every other kind of test with all negative results.
Finally, my doctor suggested a spinal tap, almost like a threat, which confirmed an MS diagnosis. Many situations along the way and since that might be worthy and or helpful to relate, but this is the first step in my journey.
Trust in yourselves, and remember that sometimes, you will need to push in order to get what you need. Now I have wonderful doctors and I hope that everything will be alright.
