I noticed I had a lump in my breast about two months after I had my child. However, I was breast feeding, and my doctor said it was probably a stash of milk that I just couldn’t get out. It remained there four months later. By then I wasn’t breastfeeding due to the complications I had with producing milk. I thought maybe the lump was preventing me of lactating but it made me depressed, so I just stopped.

I later went to the doctor when my daughter was about 8 months old for an ear infection and upper respiratory infection, and I had the doctor check my breast again. The doctor told me the lump was still there and that to not worry about it. How can I not worry about a lump in my breast if breast cancer runs in the family? The doctor knows it runs in the family, but won’t do any further testing. It’s been a year since the doctor found the lump, it’s still there, but no telling what it is or if the doctor will finally do more tests.
