Sadness. Anger. Confusion. Fear.

So many feelings and emotions all at once. To hear the words, “you have endometriosis,” it really struck me.

I had suspected it heavily for quite a while, but actually hearing those words made it real. How is a woman supposed to respond? It felt like a whole world of emotions and feelings hit me all at once. I was scared, confused, angry, upset…and truthfully, I still am.

Will I have children of my own? Will my future husband understand my pain? Will I continue to be in pain every day of my life? I ask myself these questions every day. It’s a very scary thing.

Not only is endometriosis very painful, but it makes you emotional. Just because us women have to suffer from this, it doesn’t mean it can control us.

Accept it, take care of yourself, take time for yourself, but don’t let it take over you. We are strong and we can’t let it overcome us. We all have a purpose and that is not to let endometriosis take control.
