When I was 37 years old I worked at a supermarket. I had 13 years work experience there and then, one day they fire me, for no reason. After that, I felt terrible and confused.

At that time, I had two little kids to care about and a lot of bills to pay. I lost my car, my apartment… everything. But what I didn’t know back then, was that I was losing my health too.

I tried to figure out what happened to me… I lost weight and my vision became blurry and I go several times to the bathroom, more than usual.

I have some issues. I got another job really quick and something happens when I started to go to work.

After I got my insurance I went to the doctor’s office and he told my sugar is crazy high, like 400!!! I almost had a heart attack, but he prescribed me insulin in that moment for my diabetes. I needed to change my lifestyle immediately – no candy…no cakes…no life….for me.

I am severely depressed and have high blood sugar, high blood pressure (diabetes), and other stuff but my life must go on… I have to be there for my kids… I think if I didn’t have the love of my kids, I would have died at that time.
