I started having horrible periods when I was 13. I didn’t know that it wasn’t normal, I supposed every girl feels like this when having periods. I would have to be sent home when my period would come, that’s how painful it was. Getting out of bed was hard, I would lay there for hours hurting so bad and crying.

It caused me some depression because I had a hard time dealing with the pain. At one point, I got so used to always having pain all the time. When I was 24, I ended up getting an ovarian cyst. I had to have it removed. That is when a doctor told me for certain I had endometriosis. I had it for so long, and it wasn’t treated until now. Like that wasn’t enough, I am having trouble getting pregnant. That is my life living with this pain. I would tell any girl with bad pains to go to your OB-GYN and get checked. This is something you don’t want to just live with.
