Hello, I have chosen the title my story “Living Day by Day With Anxiety” because that is how I have learned to live with my anxiety.

One day at a time. For those of you who have not read my first story, I have struggled with Anxiety and Panic Attacks since I was 6 years old. I am now 28 years old. I have also survived the massive Hurricane Katrina that devastated Louisiana in 2005.

I’m going to share a few of my struggles living with anxiety and panic attacks are; Not being able to socialize in a high tension conversation, as a result, I may get a panic attack, and avoiding confrontation with someone.

My biggest struggle is whenever it rains, there is a thunderstorm or any type of rough weather my anxiety goes through the roof. I will have panic attacks back to back and I am unable to calm myself down until the weather is completely over. I will go sit in the bathroom inside of the bathtub (no water) with my fingers pushed inside my ears so that I can not hear.

Now, this has been the result of surviving a Category 5 Hurricane that completely wiped out the entire Gulf Coast. My Family has been and is my biggest supporter. My mom has been there for me since I began getting panic attacks at 6 years old. I would wake up in the night crying not knowing what I was feeling and tell my mother that people were screaming or fussing at me. Which in reality it was only the feeling of fear and being scared, Not literally hearing voices.

My mother would hold me tight and just rock me. Currently, I have learned how to cope on a daily basis with my anxiety. I take it one day at a time. I do find that diffusing Essential Oils help to calm me down after a hectic day. Lavender and Eucalyptus are the best. I even add them to my baths. They do help. Hopefully, my stories help others who suffer. It helps me to share my stories as well.

Have a blessed day you guys!
