What do you think, can working out help with Osteoarthritis? Can it make the pain better or worse?

I’ve worked in the military for 38 years mostly testing weapons. Climbing up and down, crawling, lifting heavy things.

I’ve been ok up until 5 or so months ago. My right hip started to hurt a little then it has progressed to the point to where it hurts to stand up, walk, go to the bathroom, sleep. I’ve been in pain but this is almost unbearable.

It is difficult to have a normal life when every second of every day you are in pain. There are times when I think that I cannot breathe from all the pain I’m in.

Nevertheless, I do try to walk, stretch etc. I’ve gone to the doctor. I found out that I have osteoarthritis in my right hip. They give me Celebrex and a narcotic. I try not to take the narcotic unless I need it.

Hopefully, I will retire soon but want to lead an active life. I don’t want my osteoarthritis to prevent me from having a normal, active life. I love doing things and I refuse to sit still.

Sorry, I’m 56 and like I said I have led a pretty rough work life with my duties.
