Why is No One Talking About Fibromyalgia?

First, Fibromyalgia is a real disease and affects hundreds of thousands of people around the world. However, even with countless people suffering from it some refuse to believe it’s a real disease. Some think we are making it up for attention while others believe we are making it up to be lazy.

What makes it worse is that some doctors refuse to believe it is real and fail to provide a diagnosis of it. Instead, they assume it’s another problem and circle around the issue.

The biggest issue I see about Fibromyalgia is that no one is talking about it. I don’t see any Fibro Marathons or races like I do with other diseases. There definitely aren’t as many non-profits working to help those with Fibro. People that don’t have a family member with the disease, simply don’t know enough about it to care. And that needs to change.

Everyone that is a part of the Fibromyalgia community needs to help spread awareness. We need to be more open about our disease. There are various ways we can do this. One of them is explaining to people what our symptoms are instead of just shutting them out from what’s happening in our bodies. This helps bring the various symptoms of Fibromyalgia to light whereas before they were hidden. As you’re probably aware, there are a lot of various symptoms that come with Fibromyalgia
