Migraines are a neurological disorder but aside from that science isn’t really close to coming out with a Cure for them. There are temporary relief methods but nothing set in stone. Scientists just aren’t sure the exact mechanism that causes migraines.
However, because it has been established that it is a neurological disorder, scientists can look more into a genetic or metabolism link. However there is another problem. Migraine research receives very few funds compared to other debilitating conditions. The National institute of Health’s 2017 budget for Smallpox was $51 million compared to its $19 million budget for migraines.
We need to help raise more awareness for Migraines so they can be prevented. They cost millions of dollars around the world every year due to sick leave, work breaks, etc.
