More than 15 years ago my eight-year relationship ended. I was laid off from my job and had to move back home. I was 30k in debt. I weighed around 300 pounds. I can’t remember the exact weight because I would not look at the doctor’s scale. I cried myself to sleep every night. I had finally hit bottom.
Fast forward to today. I am no longer in debt. I am married and have been in this relationship for 14 years. This morning I weighed 118 pounds. It’s nothing short of a miracle.

I did not have surgery. I did not go to therapy, although that’s a perfectly valid thing to do. I decided to never give up, no matter what. That means I am committed to keep going one day at a time. If I make a mistake, I try to understand why but MOVE ON. It’s amazing how many more “good” days make up for any slip-ups.
I had to gradually change the way I eat. I lost the weight slowly and then maintained it. It took me five years. I had some skin removal surgery which costed a lot less than a new car! I can move my body and play sports, badly. I love to dance.
