How did you discover that you have diabetes? Share to Increase Awareness!
I was diagnosed with Diabetes at the age of 26. I first had signs of it while I was pregnant with my second baby. Four months after I had the baby, I was not feeling well at all. I was weak, really tired, dizzy, lightheaded and really thirsty. My mom just out of Curiosity checked my sugar with her meter, and it was 688.
I went to the hospital. There they said my sugar reading was 721. They hospitalized me for a few days to get it lowered. all of the staff at the hospital couldn’t believe that I was even talking and standing. They said I should have been in a diabetic coma. It has been a long hard road for me. I went to two different doctors till finding the one that I have now. They were amazing for 12 years before I went to the doctor I have today. My A1C was between 11 & 10 and weighed 260 lb. Today, after a very short time from seeing them, my A1C is 8 and my weight is 199 lb.

My doctors that I have now inspired me. They don’t degrade or make me feel bad about myself or put me down. They don’t talk to me like I’m a child like the last doctor I had. She was not nice at all. My doctors now actually care about me and my well-being. They were really impressed by how well I am doing and how fast my results are coming along. Amazing people they are.
