Over the past several years I have been suffering from knee pains, more in the left knee but the right one is starting to have issues. Knee pain was creeping in on me since a long time but when I finally decided to go and have them checked out I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in both knees with the left being worse and getting close to needing replacement surgery.
My insurance required me to do therapy first then if it didn’t work out, I would seek doing the shot in the knees to add cushion and this procedure is pretty expensive, about 2 or 3 thousand dollars. I went through the therapy which didn’t work well, so my doctor sent in a request to have the shots.

It was denied to which my doctor said the next step is replacement surgery. I decided to put it off till the end of the year only because I would rather not be down in the summer time so that I can do my rock hounding. It is kind of interesting because when I go out rock hounding sometimes we do a small amount of hiking and climbing hillsides. My knees seem to know that I need them to cooperate and let me do this with minimal pain and they do.
They just step into this numb stage and I am able to do the rock hounding with little to no pain. I am not one to complain about my aches and pains. I always consider those out there who are worse off than me. My family is encouraging me to just go and get it done, but I feel that I can wait so that I can do what I enjoy during the good weather and be down in the winter time. However, I will have the surgery done soon, closer to the end of the year.
