I found out yesterday I have Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver disease. I had been having pain on the right side of my upper abdomen on and off for a while now, but lately, the pain started to intensify. I went to the ER two days ago, and they said my liver enzymes were slightly higher than normal. I then decided to go to urgent care to find out what exactly was happening and they sent me to CT scan.
After doctors performed all the necessary analysis, the results showed the reason for my pain. I found out about my diagnosis. I got the recommendation concerning my nutrition – I was told to drink more water and eat a low-fat diet. I did my own research and found out more about the foods I need to avoid and the ones that help. I’m also type two diabetic and is long past due for me to lose weight. This just kick started my diet and exercise. Without this diagnosis, I’d still be eating unhealthily and killing my liver.
