My diagnosis for Rheumatoid Arthritis was initially in my early 20’s. It was discovered by a blood test that I requested after watching my mother suffer from complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis. I asked my doctor if there was a way to know if I have the disease before the symptoms develop. I did the blood work and the results were positive. That was over 30 years ago.

Since then, I was given different medications to prolong the damage and was faithful to the treatment plan for nearly 5 years. Then life got in the way and my adopted child was diagnosed with multiple medical conditions and I was concentrating on his well-being and my own health took a back seat. Of course, it took a toll on my health since I wasn’t caring for it properly.

AFTER 30 YEARS, I HAD TO FIND NEW DOCTORS FOR DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT.

This time the Rheumatologist was adamant that I did not have it. Again blood test we’re done and the diagnosis was positive. Now, I am on Symponi Aria infusions every 8 weeks. I see a pain specialist that helps with the daily pain associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I’m finally doing something for my health and I feel good about it. Hopefully, the treatments will be effective, so my condition improves.
