I just wanted to share this with everyone as a hope and maybe inspiration to others. I am 34 years old and a little over a year ago I suffered an injury. I fell and broke my neck, my collarbone, my femur (thigh bone), my shoulder and my wrist. When I fell, I immediately knew something was wrong. Not only did I hear a crunch but since I fell on rocks, I didn’t know if it was them or me. While most of my neighbors were on the phone with 911, I tried to adjust myself and realized that I couldn’t feel my legs. All I was thinking about was how am I going to survive after the injury and take care of myself, not to mention taking care of my kids and raising them.

I was blessed to be able to start therapy and see psychiatrists help me cope with everything that I was going through.  To be honest, I wanted to give up.  I also went through a very intensive physical therapy and a neurotransmitter. Finally, after being in the hospital for almost a year, my brain was learning how to receive signals and send the information to my legs. I couldn’t feel my legs but have gotten nerve ending pain which is better than nothing at all. I am thankful to everyone who helped me and told me not to give up. I still have my power chair. To be honest, I do have days when I can’t walk, but please don’t ever give up hope. Find something or someone out there that you believe in and keep it.
