A new report has estimated that in 2015 there were 3.2 million deaths from COPD and asthma related diseases. This is a Huge increase from 1990 which had 2.8 million deaths. You are 8 times more likely to die from COPD than from Asthma, so a huge portion of this number is all from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
In fact, the number of people living with COPD has increased dramatically as well. It is estimated that 174.5 million people are living with this serious disease. Up from 121 million in 1990.
