Hello! My name is Dorothy, but, my family lovingly refers to me as Dottie. I am Big Momma to 10 beautiful grandchildren, and I was blessed with four children (three boys and a girl).

I am a born-again child of the King, and I have a Master’s Degree in Psychology. However, before I was able to open my counseling practice, I became ill. First with hepatitis C which developed into cirrhosis of the liver, then congestive heart failure. After that, my health snowballed out of control. I was diagnosed with hypertension, fibromyalgia, GERD, restless leg syndrome, degenerative arthritis in my lower back, peripheral neuropathy, bone spurs in both heels, and morbid obesity. I was 397 pounds at my heaviest, and I am only 5’5″!

With my faith never faltering, I endured months of hospitalizations, surgical procedures, MRI’s, ultrasounds, endless medications, and days being bedridden. Today, I have lost 130 pounds, no longer have hepatitis C, my CHF and cirrhosis are both under control, I have not been hospitalized since 2012, and I only take a few medications.

My motto is my favorite Bible verse, Psalms 27:14 “Wait on the Lord. Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart. Wait, I say, on the Lord.”
